The method behind this planner

  1. Pay the fixed things first. Rent/mortgage, insurance, and the phone plan are the commitments that keep life stable. List them before anything flexible.
  2. Utilities next, averaged. Electricity and water move with the seasons. Take your highest recent bill and budget that amount every month — in cheap months the difference builds your buffer.
  3. Give every dollar one job. Income minus planned lines should land near zero. Money with no assignment disappears; money assigned to a name — "emergency fund", "debt" — gets saved.
  4. Fund future you before fun you. Target at least 20% of take-home toward savings and debt payoff. Start the emergency fund at $500, then build toward one month of expenses, then three.
  5. Calibrate each paycheck. Fixed bills usually come due once or twice a month. Split your plan by paycheck so the money for rent on the 1st is not spent on the 15th.
  6. Review monthly, adjust without guilt. A budget that misses by $80 and gets fixed next month is working. One that is abandoned after a bad month is not — the plan serves you, not the reverse.

This planner runs entirely in your browser — nothing you type is sent to any server. It is financial education, not personalized financial advice; for debt, credit, or tax decisions, consult a qualified professional or a nonprofit credit counseling agency.
